A small account book detailing rent paid, houses occupied and dates when identified people were resident in St Neot. Most entries date from 1855 but there are a couple of earlier ones. There is mention of Miners and Mining Companies. An early record of the Policeman is mentioned.
Various comments are made like "Cheated Rent". Some people only have an initial rather than a first name, others are entitled Esq. The title "Widow" is used rather than the woman's first name.
Prior to decimalisation money was recorded as £, the same as now. s = shilling, there were 20 to £1. Each shilling had 12 pennies (shown as d). 240d per £1. There were also halfpenny coins £1 = 480 and farthing coins, £1 = 960.
